Old Hazel Patch

Old Hazel Patch was a campsite at the conjunction of two old paths, Boone Trace and Skagg’s Trace. A historical marker for “The Hazel Patch” is on KY 490 about six miles east of US 25E. A marker placed in 1942 sits nearby on private property in the field regarded as Old Hazel Patch. An exhibit for Wildcat Mountain along US 25 E near New Hazel Patch includes a map showing one historian’s interpretation of The Boone Trace.
