In 1915, the Kentucky DAR placed a cast iron tablet across the street from the Historic Boone Tavern Hotel to commemorate the Boone Trace. Today that marker remains at the corner of Main Street South and Prospect St. in Berea. (This marker is one of 50 cast iron markers placed by the DAR in four states between 1913 and 1915 to mark Daniel Boone’s Trail. Thirty of them remain today.
