Title

The Blockhouse at Natural Tunnel State Park

Description

The Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Association built a replica blockhouse around which to interpret life on the frontier of southwest Virginia during the late 18th century. The structure helps recall the Anderson Blockhouse along the Holston River at which families gathered until they had a party with enough guns to make it safer to proceed along Boone's Trace to Cumberland Gap and then into Kentucky.
